"These projects vary in size from things like roof repair and improved insulation at existing facilities to major new construction.

Last session, despite the budget deficit, neither the Omnibus E-12 Education Bill nor the Omnibus Health and Human Services Bill included any direct cuts to early care or early education programs, meaning that state funding for Head Start, ECFE, School Readiness, Early Screening, and Family Home Visiting currently remain flat through the next biennium.
Education in our state. The 2010 Legislative Session will focus on some major policy reform, funding issues, and stabilizing the funding base.

EDUCATION FUNDING SPARED CUTS IN 2009; FUNDING “SHIFT” HURTS SCHOOLS

During the 2009 Legislative Session, Minnesota schools were spared the budget ax, mainly through use of federal stimulus dollars, to stabilize education revenues.
Minnesota's Natural Resources. Legislators will consider environmental bonding proposals, recommendations from the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council for expenditures from the Outdoor Heritage Fund, and recommendations from the Legislative-Citizens Commission on Minnesota Resources for expenditures from the Environmental Trust Fund (lottery proceeds).
